Duties of Editors
Publication Decisions
The editors of An-Nisa' Journal of Gender Studies are responsible for determining which articles are eligible for publication in the journal. The main considerations in this process are the scientific validity of the work and its relevance to researchers and readers. In carrying out their duties, editors refer to policies established by the editorial board and take into account legal provisions related to defamation, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. Editors are also permitted to seek input from other editors and reviewers before making a final decision.
Fairness
Editors evaluate manuscripts based on their intellectual quality and substance, without considering factors such as the author's race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic background, nationality, or political views.
Confidentiality
The editor and editorial team are required to maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and are not permitted to share related information with any party, except with the corresponding author, reviewers, prospective reviewers, editorial advisors, and publishers, as required for the editorial process.
Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
The contents of unpublished manuscripts may not be used for research purposes by editors without the express written consent of the author.
Duties of Reviewers
Contribution to Editorial Decisions
The peer review process assists editors in making editorial decisions, while communication during the process can support authors in refining their manuscripts.
Timeliness
Any selected reviewer who feels incompetent to evaluate the content of the manuscript or realizes that they cannot complete the review on time must notify the editor and withdraw from the review process.
Confidentiality
Manuscripts submitted for review must be treated as confidential documents and may not be shared or discussed with any party without the editor's consent.
Objectivity Standards
The review process must be conducted objectively. Personal criticism or comments directed at the author are not permitted. Reviewers must express their opinions clearly and provide relevant reasons.
Acknowledgment of Sources
Reviewers are required to point out relevant works that have not been cited by the author. Any statements, findings, or arguments that have been published previously must be accompanied by the correct references. In addition, reviewers need to inform the editor if there is significant substance or overlap between the manuscript being reviewed and other publications known to the reviewer.
Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
Information and ideas obtained during the review process must remain confidential and may not be used for personal gain. Reviewers must also decline to review if they have a conflict of interest due to competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with the author, company, or institution associated with the manuscript.
Duties of Author
Reporting Standards
Authors of original research works should provide an accurate account of the work performed and discuss its significance objectively. Key data should be presented accurately in the article. Manuscripts should be supplemented with sufficient detail and references so that the research can be replicated. Misleading or deliberately inaccurate presentation of information is unethical and intolerable.
Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must guarantee that the submitted manuscript is their original work. If authors use the work or expressions of others, they must be properly cited or referenced.
Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication
In general, authors are prohibited from publishing the same research report in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting identical manuscripts to multiple journals at the same time is considered unethical and unacceptable.
Acknowledgments
Proper credit for the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite publications that have been important in shaping the research presented.
Authorship of Articles
Authorship is only given to individuals who have contributed significantly to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the research. Those who have made substantial contributions should be listed as co-authors, while others who have been involved in specific aspects should be acknowledged as contributors. The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all eligible co-authors are listed in the article, that no names are included inappropriately, and that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the final version of the manuscript and agreed to its submission for publication.
Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
All authors are required to declare in the manuscript any conflicts of interest, whether financial or substantive, that may influence the results or interpretation of the research. In addition, all forms of funding support must be clearly disclosed.
Fundamental Errors in Published Works
If authors become aware of any significant errors or inaccuracies in their published work, they are obligated to immediately inform the editor or publisher and cooperate in retracting or correcting the article.
